Memo 001: Meet the Assistant.

A. Action for 1337 Benny Road.

[The first thing Miss Pauling notes when she opens her eyes is how bright the bedroom is. She shuts her eyes tightly, having not yet readjusted to the light. However, when she opens them up again, she immediately notes something else.

The walls around her weren't coloured purple.

Confused, she reaches for her glasses at the bedside table, only to note that they weren't her usual optic wear either. They were just the wrong shape.]

That's strange, where are my glasses...?

[Her hands fumbled around for her familiar pair of spectacles, until she accidentally knocked over the lamp with a resounding smash.]

Ooops.

B. Phone

Hello? Is there anyone there? I...I think I've been kidnapped!

So that's why I don't even have my normal glasses with me then...alright.

Is there anything else I should know then, Mr.Lithuania? Or someone else I could go to for further clarification on certain things?

Once a month the town does things. Different things, but they're usually dangerous. Last month we had to drink the milk I warned you about for about a week, for example. Death doesn't last here, but still...

Ah, I know there's a brochure floating around town. I don't have one, but I'm sure if you ask about it someone should have an extra.

Death doesn't last here? [This catches her attention.] Is there a Respawn system installed in this...simulation?

A Respawn system? [Maybe that's something from her world.] I don't know how death works here--or doesn't--I'm afraid. This place is really strange.

I see...well, it's good to know that death isn't permanent here then.

[Part of her was glad that Mr.Lithuania didn't know about Respawn, or how death was like in Mayfield, and genuinely sounded like he really had no clue. That meant that it was more likely that he was in her situation, and not just bluffing.]

Lastly, are there any of the other prisoners here who I should look out for? Are there any mentally-ill people, or criminals here?

Ah... [Yes.] This place doesn't seem to have any discretion about who ends up here. Most of the people in town who were kidnapped are nice enough, but there are some to avoid. I know there's someone calling himself the Major who should be avoided if possible.

The Major? Can you pass me a description of the man? Like clothing, ethnicity, appearance? Does he have a weapon of some sort?

German, heavyset. He could have easily bought a gun here, but I don't know what he's gotten back since he arrived. He doesn't seem to bother hiding who he is. He talks a lot about war and violence.

[She makes a mental note to see whether she could get a gun in this place. Mr.Lithuania didn't seem like the right type of person to ask regarding firearms, so she'd probably have to ask the RED Sniper again.]

Thanks for the heads up. I'll keep an eye out and stay away from him.

Thanks so much for all your help Mr.Lithuania. It's really nice of you to help me out, seeing as you don't even know me.

It's no trouble, Miss Pauling. People were willing to help me out when I arrived, so it's only fair to do the same, right? And the more people know what's going on, the faster we can all go home, I hope.

Well, I'd better get started looking for that brochure. Thanks again. [She pauses, a bit uncertain whether she should extend her invitation. But technically, the man didn't work for TF Industries, or RED or BLU. Surely it wasn't going against company policy...]
